As we heard from Sarah Buttenshaw in the introductory blog for Wiltshire, the lock-up at Heytesbury had a face lift in 2007 and is now in pristine condition. It is situated at High Street, BA12 0EB and it dates to the 18th century.

It was Grade 11 listed 11.9.1966 (No.313272) and described as :

Blind house; village lock-up. Probably C18. Limestone ashlar,
stone slate pointed roof. Octagonal. Plain square-head doorcase
with planked studded door, over is small square light with iron
bars. Roof has ball finial at apex.
Interior has simple fitted wooden bench against rear wall, ceiling
is ashlar dome. Scheduled Ancient Monument, Wiltshire No 254.

A glimpse of the interior reveals that the wooden bed is still intact. The only ventilation and light is through s small barred opening above the door.
The lock-up is used annually when on 5th November, Guy Fawkes is imprisoned therein before being taken to the village bon-fire.

The lock-up or Blind House at Hilperton is situated in Church Street, BA14 7RL, beside the village war memorial. It dates to the mid 18th century and is said to be a typical Wiltshire example.

Blind house or village lock-up. Probably mid C18. Limestone
ashlar walls and
roof. Octagonal single-storey cell with earlyC20 door facing street, plat band to octagonal domed roof with ball
finial. A typical Wiltshire example.

The lock-up or Blind House at Lacock is situated in East Street, SN15 2LF at the end of the 14th century Tithe Barn. It dates to the late 18th century and there is a wooden bench and an earth toilet inside

The wooden bed and the earth toilet are still intact Photo Wikipedia Commons and licensed for reuse under this Creative Commons Licence It was Grade 11 listed 20.12.1960 (No.315512) and described as : Lock-up or Blind House, later C18, ashlar with square-domed ashlar roof and ball finial. Square plan with 2 buttresses to north, raised plinth and raised band. On west front wall is continued from lock-up to north-west angle of Tithe Barn over heavily studded door, creating a small yard, roofed with iron grille. Scheduled Ancient Monument Wiltshire 257. By the 1950's it had fallen into disrepair. Local stonemason, George Gerrish
undertook the rebuilding of the massive masonry in the roof of the lock-up and restored it to its former glory.
